Jessy
Grossman was born and raised in Miami, Florida. At a very young age she
discovered her passion for theatre. She began auditioning for shows and performing arts schools. Soon she began working in community
theatre (Actors Playhouse in Coral Gables, Florida) and was accepted to Southwood Middle School Center for the Arts
in the drama department.
She
continued with her theatrical education at the prestigious New World
School of the Arts in Miami, Florida. She majored in musical theatre and
acting.
In 2006, Jessy joined Project Spotlight and has served as its Vice
President, Treasurer, board member, and producer. The
organization produces a One Act Festival
and other
theatrical events
multiple times per year. The One Act Festival is known for pushing the
envelope with its
quality and risk taking
productions. All shows were student directed, acted, and many were student
written.
After
performing in many productions in Miami and Orlando, Jessy decided to
explore directing. Immediately she found
a love for
it and has been directing ever since.
She
has directed and assistant directed numerous shows for UCF Conservatory
Theatre, The Orlando Repertory Theatre, Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, and Project Spotlight's One
Act Festival.
Today, she is a
graduate of the University of Central Florida with a BFA in Acting.
Jessy hopes to continue studying, learning, and growing as an artist. She
hopes to continue to collaborate with
wonderfully talented people who share the same passion for theatre and art
that she does.
